Why I’m Sharing GGC

I want to give you a little background on why GGC is here on my website, because my experience with this one is a little different.

I first got involved with Global Gold Coin many months ago, when the stated value of GGC was considerably lower. At the time, there was an opportunity to receive 100 GGC coins for free, so naturally I thought, Why not? I opened my wallet, collected my coins and started following the project.

Since then, I've watched the stated value of those coins increase significantly. I did eventually choose to put some of my own money into GGC as well — but only $200 in total. That's the extent of my personal financial investment.

Then things got very quiet.

For approximately six months, there wasn't much communication or visible progress, and I wasn't sure what was happening behind the scenes. More recently, the company has said that it had been dealing with internal management issues, made changes to its leadership team, and is now moving forward under new leadership with some very ambitious plans.

One of those plans is to pursue a public Binance listing in the coming months. I want to be very clear here: that is a goal being communicated by GGC, not something I consider guaranteed until Binance itself confirms a listing.

So why am I still interested?

Because I already hold GGC, I've invested very little of my own money, and there are currently ways to collect GGC without making a large financial commitment. For me, that makes this an interesting project to continue watching.

I'm not sharing GGC because I know where the coin is going. I don't. And I'm certainly not suggesting that today's stated value guarantees what these coins could eventually be worth on an open market.

I'm sharing it because I'm participating myself, I'm actually feeling very excited about it's potential, I think the concept is interesting, and I believe it's worth keeping an eye on.

Sometimes an opportunity doesn't have to be an all-in decision. Sometimes it's simply something worth learning about, participating in at a level you're comfortable with, and seeing where it goes.

That's exactly where I am with GGC.

What Exactly Is Global Gold Coin?

Global Gold Coin — or GGC — is one of the more unusual crypto projects I've come across because its concept is designed to bring together two very different worlds: gold and cryptocurrency.

Instead of creating another digital coin based solely on technology and market demand, the idea behind GGC is to connect a digital asset with real-world gold assets.

According to Global Gold Coin, the project is associated with more than 1,000 acres of gold-rich property in Nevada, with the company reporting significant estimated gold reserves beneath the property. So how does GGC fit into all of this?

Think of GGC as the cryptocurrency within the Global Gold Coin ecosystem.

And this is where I think it's important to make a distinction.

You'll see GGC currently displaying a $600-per-coin value. That is the value being reported within the GGC ecosystem; I don't want anyone reading my site to automatically interpret that as the same thing as an independently established price on a large public cryptocurrency exchange.

Those are two different things.

As the project develops and outside trading becomes available, we'll have considerably more information about how the broader market values GGC.

Why combine gold and crypto?

This is really the concept that caught my attention.

Gold has been used as a store of value for thousands of years, while blockchain gives us an entirely new way of owning, transferring and tracking digital assets.

GGC is attempting to bring those ideas together — something tangible in the physical world combined with something digital in the crypto world.

For someone like me who has been around crypto for years, that's an interesting concept to watch.

A Little Perspective From Me

GGC is still a developing crypto project, and I think that needs to be said clearly.

There are some very big claims and very big ambitions surrounding Global Gold Coin. Some of the information about the gold reserves, valuation and future plans comes directly from GGC and its affiliated promotional materials rather than independent market sources. 

That doesn't mean I need to tell you what to think about it.

It means do your homework. Ask questions. Understand what you're buying. And never put money into any cryptocurrency that you cannot afford to lose.

I'm sharing GGC because I find the concept interesting and exciting so I believe it's worth following — not because I can tell you what it will be worth tomorrow, next year or five years from now.
